Joy SpearChief-Morris is an Indigenous Black Canadian writer, advocate, and retired Team Canada athlete. From Lethbridge, Alberta, she is a proud member of the Kainai Blood tribe. Joy has a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from Western University, researching intersections of land, race and reconciliation. Joy has pieces published in CBC SportsThe Globe and Mail and The Narwhal and is currently pursuing a Master of Journalism at Carleton University.
