Joy SpearChief-Morris is an Indigenous Black Canadian journalist and former athlete. From Lethbridge, Alberta, she is a proud member of the Kainai Blood Tribe whose work has appeared in The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, The Narwhal, The Walrus, CBC and Sportsnet. Joy's work has focused on the environment, healthcare, sports and Indigenous affairs. Joy is the 2026 CJF-Globe and Mail Black Business Journalism Fellow as well as 2025 CJF-CBC Indigenous Fellow and Canadian Association of Journalism Emerging Indigenous Journalist Award finalist.
